ECHOSPORT talks to Aldershot Town fan Jack Boswell ahead of Saturday's match with

Aldershot are currently fifth in the table. What have you made of the season so far?

"It’s been a fantastically entertaining, rollercoaster ride of a season so far.

"Some big score-lines, unforgettable moments and a terrific cup run saw Shots become the first non-league side in FA Cup history to put seven goals past a Football League opponent.

"We then went on to beat League Two leaders Stockport County and were defeated by Championship-side West Brom in the third round.

"Manager Tommy Widdrington has recruited wisely, picking several players up from the lower leagues - one of these including 19-year-old Josh Stokes who has 16 goals himself.

"Aldershot Town’s three forwards have 52 goals between them so far this season.

"It’s been a tough 15-or-so years for Shots, often hovering around the relegation zone.

"But the belief and excitement has returned to the club as we look to push for a play-off spot."

What have been the main reasons for the good results?

"Goals, youthful energy (second youngest side in the league), good dressing room atmosphere and belief.

"We go into every game confident, and knowing we can score against any team and come out with a positive result.

"The manager says ‘if we can’t win the game, we don’t lose it’."

What are the hopes for the rest of the season and how confident are you of promotion?

"We have lots of players going into uncharted territory in terms of games played.

"Most of the squad have not played a full season of senior men’s football before.

"We have great squad depth though, and rotation is crucial to maintaining our form.

"If we can continue this form, then we see no reason why we can’t achieve a play-off spot.

Who have been the stand out performers?

"It’s difficult to pick ‘stand out’ performers, because they’ve all been great.

"But Lorent Tolaj has been fantastic this season and is our top goalscorer.

"The strong and technically gifted young Swiss talent is taking the National League by storm and has 21 goals & 13 assists to his name already this season!

What's the team news?

"Striker Jack Barham limped off injured last game and centre-back Coby Rowe is also injured."

Captain, Aaron Jones, still out injured & Ollie Scott also out.

Cian Harries possibly still missing through suspension. Josh Barrett returns after a short-term injury.
