BILLERICAY Town suffered a fifth defeat in succession, losing 6-3 at second placed Chatham Town.
Adam Leathers fired Billericay into an early lead before the hosts hit back to lead 4-1.
Frankie Merrifield netted just before the break for Billericay but Chatham regained control to lead 6-2 before Sydney Ibie netted a late consolation.
Billericay remain third in the Isthmian Premier Division standings.
Elsewhere, 14th placed Canvey Island drew 0-0 at home to 11th placed Carshalton Athletic while Hashtag United drew 1-1 with 15th placed Whitehawk at the Len Salmon Stadium.
Luke May-Parrott was on target for the Tags.
Concord Rangers saw their match at Folkestone Invicta postponed while the wet weather also affected the Isthmian North programme.
Basildon United had their match at home to Bury Town postponed while Bowers & Pitsea’s clash at Brentwood Town also fell victim to the weather.
In the Essex Senior League, Great Wakering Rovers had their match at Saffron Walden Town postponed and Hullbridge Sports also saw their game at Coggeshall Town called off.
White Ensign were beaten 4-0 at home to Stanway Rovers and remain 15th.
