SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher expects Altrincham to be dangerous at Roots Hall on Tuesday night,

The Robins arrive at Roots Hall sitting ninth in the National League after suffering three defeats in succession.

But Maher is fully aware of how tough Altrincham will be to beat.

“They’ve had a few results not go their way recently but it happens in this league with momentum going one way or the other,” said Maher.

“They’ve got a good enough team to change that any time and I’m sure they will coming here to try and get something.

“They’ve got dangerous players all over the pitch and they’re a very, very good team.”

And Maher is certain Altrincham will continue their push for the play-offs.

“It’s no accident they’re up where they are in the league and I’m sure they’ll be there at the end of the season too,” said Maher.

“They will pose a big threat and it’s pretty obvious they’re a good attacking side.

“It’s another game we’ll have to perform well in to get anything from it.”

But the Shrimpers will be heading into the game on a high after securing back to back victories.

“To get three points against a team in the play-offs was important and it followed up winning on Tuesday,” said Maher.

“We’re pleased with that but it’s been quickly put to bed, especially with the number of games we have coming up in quick succession.”
