ECHOSPORT talks to Altrincham fan Tom Murray ahead of Tuesday night's clash with Southend United at Roots Hall.

Altrincham are currently ninth in the table. What have you made of the season so far?

"It’s been a superb season so far.

"We’ve far exceeded the expectations of the majority of our fans and certainly what outsiders expected of us before the season began.

"When we’re on our game we play some superb football and we’re a match for anyone in this decision.

"On the whole we’ve found the consistency of winning the majority of our home games, along with picking up several decent results on the road.

"Hopefully, with what on paper is a favourable run in, we can secure a play-off place in the end."

You've lost the last three games. Just a blip or something to worry about?

"I don’t think the results are anything to worry about just yet.

"Aldershot and Hartlepool are both tricky away games and during the season we have struggled a bit when we go away to the higher placed teams.

"Losing 3-1 at home to Maidenhead in the last game is definitely not the sort of result we’ve been used to this season, and personally I think the performance was a little concerning but I have full faith we’ll bounce back and finish the season strongly."

How has Dan Mooney been playing since returning to you from Blues?

"We haven’t seen too much of Dan since he came back to us.

"We’ve got a superb front four so it was always going to be hard for him to break into the starting 11.

"I thought he looked bright in the first half against Hartlepool and was probably the best of a bad bunch in an attacking sense against Maidenhead.

"I’m sure he’ll play more of a part towards the end of the season as we rotate our squad."

Who have been the stand out performers for you this season?

"It’s got to be Chris Conn-Clarke.

"He’s been superb for us all season, winning games single-handedly at times.

"He has the ability to create something out of nothing through long range shots and at times his footwork and close control is just on another level.

"Regan Linney has also been in good form since returning from his recent injury, and I fancy him to be our biggest threat tomorrow night."

What's the team news?

"It’s difficult to predict how we will line up at the moment.

"We’ve been rotating our squad a fair bit lately and after our recent performances I suspect there may be a few changes again.

"We’re definitely missing Ethan Ross in goal, he was superb for us during the first half of the season.

"Other than a few long term injuries most of our squad should be fit and available, so I’ll be interested to see what formation and personnel Parkinson goes for tomorrow."
