SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher praised the spirit of his side following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic.
A second half equaliser from Noor Husin saw Blues bag a point at Oldham Athletic.
And Maher was happy with how the Shrimpers responded to going behind.
“When you come to a club the size of Oldham in this league and you go behind in the second half to come back and get a point is a good point,” said Maher.
“But on the whole in terms of the performance I felt like we could have taken all three.
“Credit to the players because they didn’t stop.
“They could’ve felt sorry for themselves because we played well and the response was first class”
And that eventually led to Husin levelling the scores 11 minutes from time.
“It was a build up of pressure,” said Maher.
“It was coming and it was wave after wave of attacks.
“But Noor was brave enough to take it on and it was a good strike.”
