CONCORD Rangers' survival hopes suffered a blow with a 3-0 defeat against relegation rivals Cheshunt last night.

The match was switched from the Aspect Arena to Aveley's Parkside to ensure it could go ahead in the wet conditions.

But it was Cheshunt who came out on top.

Finlay Titchmarsh fired the visitors in front five minutes into the second half before Alfie Pendlebury doubled Cheshunt's lead just before the hour mark.

Nathaniel Orafu sealed the win with a third goal in the 65th minute to help Cheshunt move just above the drop zone.

Concord remain 20th in the Isthmian Premier Division standings and are now six points behind Cheshunt, albeit with four games in hand.

The Beach Boys are back in action this weekend with a tough looking test at second placed Chatham Town.

Canvey Island saw their match with Lewes postponed due to a waterlogged pitch while Basildon United's game against Bury Town was also called off.
