SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher insists Wes Fonguck still has a big part to play this season.
The Blues chief has left the midfielder out of the matchday squad for the last two games.
However, Maher says the 26-year-old is still part of his plans.
“Wes will play a big part for us and he’s been brilliant,” said Maher.
“I’m sure somewhere along the line someone else will miss out with only being allowed five subs.
“It’s tough choosing but Wes will definitely play his part.”
Fonguck’s contract expires at the end of the season but Blues have the option of a further year on his current deal.
