HARRY Cardwell will have momentum on his mind when Southend United head to Hartlepool this weekend.
The Shrimpers go into the game unbeaten in their last eight outings with the in-form Cardwell netting three goals in his previous five outings.
And the Blues striker wants the good run to continue for both himself and the team.
“It’s nice to be heading into Saturday on the back of the win we got against Dorking on Tuesday,” said Cardwell.
“It’s important to keep the momentum going and look to get points on the road.
“On a personal note I’m really happy to get to 15 goals.
“It’s the best I’ve done in my career so I’m happy with that but there’s still eight games to go so it’s about trying to add to it now.
“I take it game at a time and goal at time so 16 is my next target.”
Blues head into Saturday’s game sitting 10th in the table.
But Cardwell remains hungry for more despite the fine form.
“The message from the manager is that this season has already a fantastic achievement under the circumstances we had at the beginning,” said Cardwell.
“We’re very happy but we want to kick on again.”
