SOUTHEND United have provided an update on the ongoing work for the club's new training ground.
Bosses say work to the new training ground has been undertaken by White Horse Contractors over the past week.
This is in preparation for the 2024/25 season.
The Shrimpers have been based at their current Boots & Laces venue since the mid 1990s.
But plans are in place for Blues to switch to the Fossetts training venue for the start of pre-season training in July.
The works, in anticipation of the move from Boots & Laces to Fossetts Park, saw the specialist sports pitch contractors on-site to reconstruct Pitch 1 and Pitch 2.
They have also began the process of delivering the high-performance surfaces ready for the start of pre-season training in late June.
The new training ground was due to be 20 acres north of the new stadium site but Blues will now be remaining at Roots Hall following the arrival of Justin Rees and his consortium.
