WOKING boss Michael Doyle was pleased with how his side kept Southend United quiet in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Roots Hall.
The Cards secured a share of the spoils in an uneventful clash.
And Doyle was delighted with the defending which made sure of the clean sheet.
“It was a bit scrappy but from our point of view we looked solid defensively,” Doyle told the club’s YouTube channel.
“Our back three were outstanding and it gave us a real platform to go and play.
“They were quite dominant back there against Cardwell who is probably one of the best strikers in the league.
“In the second half we looked more like the team that were going to win the game, it was just that that final pass or decision we didn’t get quite right.”
However, Doyle also admitted a draw against Blues was a good result.
“We can’t be greedy,” stressed Doyle.
“If they don’t have their 10 point deduction they’re right up there and all the stats show these should be a lot higher in the league table than they are.
“We knew it was massive game but to take four points from these and Barnet is very pleasing.”
