SOUTHEND United are in talks over a pre-season friendly with Rangers.
The Shrimpers have already announced four of their warm up fixtures for next season.
But Echosport understands Blues could be facing Rangers’ B side in mid to late July as they aim to get ready for the forthcoming National League campaign.
The two teams are now linked together by George Taylor who is a director of the Ibrox based club and is also part of the consortium trying to take charge of the Shrimpers.
A venue for the pre-season clash has yet to be confirmed but it seems more likely to be played in Scotland at this stage.
