FORMER Southend United defender Louis Lomas has joined National League newcomers Braintree Town.
Lomas joined the Shrimpers in July 2022 but made just 22 appearances before leaving Roots Hall back in February.

However, the 23-year-old will be staying in the National League with the Iron who won promotion via the National League South play-offs last season.
Lomas becomes the second ex Southend player to have joined Braintree this summer after striker Callum Powell signed for the club last week.
