BILLERICAY maintained their push for promotion with a convincing 10 wicket win against Ilford.
After bowling out the visitors for just 88, Billericay knocked off the required runs without losing a single wicket.
And skipper Ross Poulton was delighted with the display.
“It was almost the perfect bowling and fielding performance,” said Poulton.
“Ilford have some dangerous players so to be able to bowl them out for 88 on a flat pitch on a hot day was really pleasing.
“Our bowling attack was relentless and have been all season to be fair.
“Our openers were also really professional in knocking the runs off with a minimum of fuss to complete quite a comprehensive win.”
Louis Barrell (3/16), Ellis Pickering (3/16) and Arjun Bhardwaj (3/19) all bowled well for Billericay before batter Grant Roelofsen ended unbeaten on 57 alongside Rowan Elliott who scored 32 not out to secure another 20 points.
The win kept Billericay second in the Essex League Division One standings.
And Poulton remains hungry for more.
“Hopefully we are going to be there or thereabouts in the hunt for promotion which was the aim at the start of the season,” said Poulton.
“There are some really strong sides in the league so we can’t take our foot of the gas at any stage if we are to maintain our current form and position.
“But the lads are feeling really confident at the moment and looking forward to the challenge of keeping the unbeaten run we have been on going a little bit longer.
