IMPORTANT talks surrounding Southend United’s future are set to resume on Tuesday morning.

The Echo revealed yesterday how consortium leader Justin Rees had flown in from Australia and Jason Brown, another key component in the group, has arrived home from Hong Kong in a bid to quicken up their purchase of the club.

But, despite progress being made, the discussions with Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin look set to continue today.

The National League continue to closely monitor the situation as they mull over whether or not to let Blues kick off the forthcoming campaign.

The league made no update today and Shrimpers supporters continue to sweat over the club’s future.
