SOUTHEND United midfielder Noor Husin is still “a number of weeks away” from returning to full training.
Husin underwent surgery on a shin injury at the end of last season.
But Blues boss Kevin Maher has confirmed the 27-year-old is not yet ready to come back.
“Noor is still out,” said Maher.
“He’s still a number of weeks away.
“Stef (Russo) is going to step Noor’s rehab up this week but it’s still a period out for him.”
Husin, who has been with the Shrimpers since January 2022, made 41 starts last season.
However, he was unable to start any of the last six games due to the shin injury.
