SOUTHEND United are expected to field two trialists in this afternoon’s pre-season clash at Great Wakering Rovers.
The Shrimpers are on the look-out for a new goalkeeper following David Martin’s move to Ipswich Town.
And it is understood former Colchester United shot-stopper Sam Hornby will line up for Blues at Burroughs Park.
The 29-year-old has also played for Brackley, Kidderminster Harriers, Port Vale, Chester, Bradford City, Fylde and Solihull Moors and has made 115 senior appearances in his career.
Former Southampton defender Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo could also feature for the Shrimpers against Great Wakering.
Otseh-Taiwo can play as a wing-back on both sides of the pitch.
