THE consortium’s takeover of Southend United remains on track, Echosport understands.
The group, which is headed up by Justin Rees, agreed revised terms with Blues’ chairman Ron Martin a fortnight ago after the Fossetts Farm property project was detached from the deal to save the Shrimpers.
Since then, legal checks have not raised any new issues.
An exact date for completion has yet to be provided.
But, once finalised, the takeover will provide a huge boost for Blues boss Kevin Maher and the club’s supporters who have been fearing for the club’s future.
The consortium have already invested close to £4million into the club to ensure its survival.
