CLOSE to 2,400 season cards have already been snapped up by Southend United supporters for the forthcoming National League campaign.

Season cards went on sale late on Friday afternoon after the consortium completed their takeover of the club.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher is keen to repay the fans for their support.

“I’m delighted the fans have got the club where they want it,” said Maher.

“It was incredible support they showed last year and there’s sign above the dug out that says never give up and they didn’t.

“They carried the club and it’s their club.

“For them to see a bright future is brilliant and we want to build a club they’re proud of.”
