CANVEY Island and Southend United legends will roll back the years on Sunday in a match to raise funds for Gulls programme editor Glen Eckett.

Glen contracted a serious brain infection just before Christmas and is currently in a state of minimal consciousness.

Fundraising has taken place to support Glen and his family and a whole host of well known faces will be lining up at the Gulls’ Steve’s Taxi Stadium this weekend.

Canvey’s squad, which is managed by Glenn Pennyfather includes Jeff Minton, Steve Ward, Jeff Brazier and Ty Gooden while current Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher will line up for Blues.

Here are the squads for Sunday's game to raise money for Glen Eckett and his family.
It's a 2pm kick off. Please come along if you can.

Duncan Jupp and Mark Bentley will also feature alongside the club’s new chairman Justin Rees while Freddy Eastwood will also be in attendance.

The team will bossed by Southend legend Steve Tilson who knows Glen well from his playing days with Canvey.

“If there was ever a fundraiser you really want to raise as much money as possible for then this is it,” said Tilson.

“Glen is a fantastic person.”

Sunday’s match kicks off at 2pm and all money raised will go to Glen and his family.
