ANSSI Jaakkola is close to joining Southend United as goalkeeper coach.
Blues are still looking to fill the void left by David Martin’s decision to join Ipswich Town.
But Jaakkola, who previously played and coached at Bristol Rovers, is currently with the Shrimpers in Ireland and looks set to make a summer switch to Roots Hall.
Jaakkola warmed up Blues' shot-stoppers before tonight's friendly at Ballyfermot United.
