SOUTHEND United are looking to sign Billericay Town right-back George Wind.
Blues have been tracking Wind throughout pre-season and have now stepped up their attempts to sign him.
Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher is short of back up for Gus Scott-Morriss down the right hand side and had been looking at ex Southampton full-back Zuriel Otseh-Taiwo in the first few friendlies of the summer.
However, Otseh-Taiwo has not been offered a deal to stay with the National League club and the Shrimpers are now looking to bring in Wind who was voted Billericay's players player of the year last season.
