CRICKET: Hadleigh & Thundersley will take on a whole host of England legends at the John Burrows Recreational Ground on Friday.

The ex England PCA legends side will include the likes of Alex Tudor, Monty Panesar, Mark Ramprakash, Adam Hollioake and Matthew Hoggard.

And Hadleigh chairman Kevan Jenkinson cannot wait for the 20 over contest to get underway.

“We are excited to welcome back the ex-England Cricket PCA Legends for a day at Hadleigh and Thundersley Cricket Club,” said Jenkinson.

“The legends include 2005 Ashes hero Matthew Hoggard along with Mark Ramprakash, and Paul Nixon.

“It’s a fantastic community event to bring everyone together and showcase the sport as well.

“It’s free entry plus you can enjoy local stalls and a children’s bouncy castle fun zone.

“We really hope to see as many people there as possible for what should be a really memorable day.”

The ground opens at 12.30pm with the match starting at 3pm.

There will also be live music at the venue from 6.45pm.

Hadleigh are currently the highest ranked side in south-Essex and are ninth in the Essex League Premier Division.
