BILLERICAY stayed second in Essex League Division One with a seven wicket win against Springfield.
Springfield opted to bat first and scored 206/8 with Ross Poulton (4/63) the pick of Billericay’s bowlers.
In reply, Grant Roelofsen hit a quickfire 52 from just 19 balls before being run out while Matthew Bell added 51 and Rowan Elliott 39 not out to see Billericay home.
Billericay remain 10 points above third placed Upminster with four games to go in their promotion push.
In the Premier Division, Hadleigh & Thundersley picked up 15 points in their draw at Hutton.
Second from bottom Hadleigh were put into bat after losing the toss and scored 250/5.
Luke Smith scored 60 not out and Oliver Smith 57 not out while opener Jack Wagstaff also scored 57.
However, Hutton hung on to draw as they finished their innings on 185/9.
Louis Poynter (3/31) and Sam Handley (3/61) both bowled well but Hadleigh could not claim the last wicket needed to win.
However, Hadleigh are now just three points behind Loughton who sit just above the drop zone.
In Division Two, table-topping Old Southendian & Southchurch beat Woodford Green by eight wickets.
Woodford were dismissed for just 92 after opting to bat first with A Yousaf taking 5/34.
In reply, Southendian made it home for the loss of just two wickets with H Yawer Afzal top scoring with 45.
Old Southedian are now 34 points clear at the top of the table.
Fourth placed Westcliff are also in the promotion race after a 71 run win against Horndon on the Hill.
Westcliff scored 246/6 in their innings with Charlie Lockhart scoring 81, Joe Robbins 59 and Hammad Ul Hassan 51 before Horndon were dismissed for 175.
Ul Hassan took 4/42 with the ball and Tom Baker 2/12.
In Division Three, third placed Leigh on Sea suffered a 131 run defeat at Newham.
The hosts scored 300/7 before Leigh were bowled out for 169 with Jon Edwards hitting 49.
Eighth placed Wickford were beaten by six wickets against Hornchurch Athletic.
Wickford scored 205/5 with Jack Stead leading the way with 89 not out and Adam Deller scoring 52 not out.
But Hornchurch made it home for the loss of four wickets.
Elsewhere, bottom of the table Benfleet lost by four wickets against West Essex.
In Division Four, fifth placed Southend & EMT beat Redbridge by eight wickets.
