SOUTHEND United midfielders Oli Coker and Cav Miley both suffered injuries in the Shrimpers’ 2-2 draw with Dagenham & Redbridge at Roots Hall.

Coker – who fired Blues in front early on – had to be taken off in the first half with an ankle injury before Miley was forced off during the second 45 minutes.

And Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher will be assessing the duo’s fitness in the next few days.

“Cokes has done his ankle,” said Maher.

“It looked like a tackle from behind but it wasn’t a foul apparently which is disappointing and we’ll have to see how he is.

“Cav got his when he chased back and his neck and his back all stiffened up.

“I think it’s something he had before.

“He was still trying to carry on but we couldn’t keep going with him.

“We’ll have to assess him and see where he is but there are bodies all over the place in there.”

Josh Walker was again absent for the Shrimpers with a hamstring issue while Danny Waldron joined on the sidelines after suffering a knee problem during Saturday's defeat to Barnet.

"He blocked a clearance," said Maher.

"His body just went from under him and his knee bent.

"We’ll have to see how that settles down and maybe have a scan on that too."
