HARRY Cardwell is nearing a switch to Forest Green Rovers from Southend United, Echosport understands.
The National League have met the release clause in the striker’s contract with the Shrimpers and are now believed to be holding talks with the forward.
Cardwell, who top scored Blues with 18 goals last season, is not training with Kevin Maher’s squad this morning.
The Shrimpers are also missing centre-back Ollie Kensdale who is not available after a breach of club discipline.
