HARRY Cardwell has completed his switch to Forest Green Rovers from Southend United.

Rovers have activated a release clause in the striker’s contract and the 27-year-old has now agreed personal terms.

A statement from the Shrimpers said: “Southend United can confirm that Forest Green Rovers exercised a release clause contained in Harry Cardwell’s contract yesterday (Thursday 29th August).

“That enabled Cardwell to enter discussions with Forest Green Rovers in respect of personal terms.

“Harry subsequently agreed personal terms with the Vanarama National League side and has decided to move on a permanent basis.

“We thank Harry for his service to the club and wish him well in the future.”

Cardwell netted 29 goals in 86 games for Blues after joining in January 2022.
