GREAT Wakering Rovers top the Essex Senior League table after a 4-2 win at Little Oakley.

In-form forward Harry Brown bagged a hat-trick in a hard-fought victory.

And Brown was pleased with all aspects of the performance.

“We played really well as a team and everything we work on in training is now showing in games,” said Brown.

“We worked hard and I’m really pleased to contribute for the boys and gaffer.

“It’s great to score a hat-trick and I believe that I will get more as the season goes on.”

A brace from Brown put Wakering 2-0 in front inside the opening 39 minutes before Oakley hit back to level the scores.

Brown’s third goal of the night put Rovers 3-2 ahead before a late goal from Harrison Topliss made sure of all three points.

But Brown believes the best is yet to come from Wakering.

“We know what we can do as a group and we are showing that early,” said Brown.

“There’s still more to come from all of us and games can’t come quick enough, especially in this good form.

“We know there will be a lot of games in short spaces of time, so we will look to make the most of it and put points on the board.”

Wakering now have 13 points from five games and take on their tenants White Ensign at Burroughs Park this weekend.
