WHITE Ensign beat Great Wakering Rovers 2-1 in the groundshare derby at Burroughs Park on Saturday.
Goals from Jon Evans and Riley Weir put Ensign in control before Thomas Barton netted a late consolation for Wakering who slumped to their first defeat of the Essex Senior League season.
Wakering are now second in the table with Ensign ninth.
Hullbridge Sports moved seventh after an injury time penalty from Freddie Moriaty secured a 1-0 win at home to Buckhurst Hill while eighth placed Benfleet won 5-0 at FC Clacton.
Max Jobson scored twice while Jack Frost, Taylor Lawrence and Nathan Saunders were also on target.
In the Isthmian Premier Division, third placed Billericay Town won 3-0 at Folkestone Invicta.
Ashley Nzala bagged a brace before Ibrahim Jalloh netted late on.
Elsewhere, bottom of the table Bowers & Pitsea lost 1-0 at Potters Bar Town while second from bottom Canvey Island were beaten 3-2 at home to Dulwich Hamlet.
Jamie Salmon and Jaxon Brown scored for the Gulls.
In the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy, Basildon United lost 4-2 at Felixstowe & Walton United.
