SUTTON United boss Steve Morison was full of praise for his side following their 3-1 win at Southend United.
Sutton fought back from a goal down at Roots Hall to end a run of three successive defeats.
And Morison was delighted to pick up all three points.
"It’s amazing,” said Morison.
“Winning games of football is what we do this game for.
“We’ve had a tough run of games where we haven’t got the results we wanted but we’ve shown the character to come back.
“The lads are buzzing and it’s an opportunity to build on this now.”
And Morison also hailed the spirit on show against Southend.
“You couldn’t believe it with the goal but the lads kept at it and kept believing,” said Morison.
“We knew what the game was going to be like because it’s a tough one.
“But I said at half-time good things happen to good people and we’ve got a really good group in there.
“I said I promise we’ll get something out of the second half because you deserve it for everything you do every day.
“On the counter we could’ve won by more too.”
Sutton now sit 15th in the table
