SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher felt Keenan Appiah-Forson showed his energy levels in Saturday’s 4-2 win at Solihull Moors.
Appiah-Forson was handed his first Shrimpers start in the centre of the park.
And Maher was pleased with how the 22-year-old performed.
"Off the back of a long journey and some tired bodies it was the right time for Keenan to go in," said Maher.
"You could see the energy he’s got and the ability to go forward too.
"He hasn’t scored many before but it was a great finish and the way he cut inside was brilliant too."
Appiah-Forson made four substitute appearances for Blues prior to be handed his first start at the weekend.
