ROCHFORD Hundred have appointed Kevin Harman as director of rugby after opting to part company with Danny Cleare.

Rochford have started the Regional Two Anglia with three defeats in succession.

And the club have now opted to make a change.

A club statement confirmed: “Following a difficult start to the season resulting in losing our first three Regional Two Anglia fixtures, Rochford Hundred Rugby Club have taken the tough decision to part company with Danny Cleare as 1XV Director of Rugby and Head Coach.

“Danny has been a fantastic servant to the club both as a player, coach and DoR.

“His efforts to field a competitive side in National Two and Regional One, despite an unprecedented number of injuries over the past two seasons, was an outstanding achievement under difficult circumstances.”

Rochford return to action at home to Stowmarket this weekend.

And the match will see Harman in charge for the first time.

The statement added: “The club have appointed Kevin Harman as the new Director of Rugby on an initial two-year contract. “Kevin joins the club as a highly regarded and experienced former National 1 Director of Rugby with Southend.

“Kevin most recently was the former Emerging Talent Lead of the Gloucester Academy, identifying the best talent from around the world for the English Premiership outfit.

“Prior to his tenure at Gloucester, Kevin was the Head of Recruitment and Academy at Wasps, between 2015 and 2022, and built one of the best Academy programmes in the Premiership. “Rochford Hundred RFC look forward to working with Kevin as we move into this new era for the club.”
