BASILDON United stayed top of the Isthmian North table after bagging a 1-0 win against Gorleston at the Hive.

Darren Esuka scored the only goal of the game for the Bees who remain ahead of second placed bury Town on goal difference.

In the Essex Senior League, Great Wakering Rovers were beaten 3-1 at Woodford Town in a top of the table clash.

Perry Dunn put Rovers ahead in the 34th minute but the hosts scored three times in the second half to come out on top.

Rovers are now third in the standings while Benfleet slipped to ninth after losing 3-2 at West Essex.

Max Jobson bagged a brace for Benfleet but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Hullbridge Sports, who are 13th, lost 2-1 at Takeley despite a first half equaliser from Tobias Braney while White Ensign slipped to 16th after losing 4-1 at home to Saffron Walden Town.

Chinedu Duru was on target for Ensign.

In the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy, Bowers & Pitsea beat Real Bedford 3-0 at the Len Salmon Stadium.

Alex Teniola scored twice while TQ Addy was also on target.

Billericay Town lost 6-5 on penalties at Chertsey Town after the match ended in a 1-1 draw while Canvey Island won 2-1 at Maldon & Tiptree thanks to goals from Sonny Hart and Tom Stephen.
