SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is unsure whether or not the Shrimpers should have been awarded a first half penalty during their defeat to Maidenhead.
Adam Crowther was kicked in the head inside the penalty area when attempting to reach a right wing corner from Jack Bridge.
But Maher does not know if referee Ruebyn Ricardo was right to wave play on.
“I’m not sure to be honest,” said Maher after the game.
“You want it to be and he’s got a kick on his head but whether it is or not I don’t know.
“I’ve not seen it again yet.”
Harry Taylor was yellow carded for his part in the protests which followed the penalty not being awarded before Blues went on to suffer another defeat at Roots Hall.
However, Maher again stressed the importance of remaining united.
“We’re having a tough time on the pitch now so we’ve got to stick together as a team and a fanbase like they have throughout the season,” said Maher.
“The players have got to show the same fighting spirit we’ve shown for however long and together we will get through this.”
