BILLERICAY Town will be looking to bounce back from their FA Trophy frustration when they take on Dartford at New Lodge tonight.
Billericay were beaten 6-5 on penalties in Saturday’s third qualifying round clash.
And boss Gary McCann is now looking for a strong reaction this evening when his side return to Isthmian Premier Division action.
“Saturday was disappointing and we didn’t want to exit two major cup competitions as quickly as we have because I have the mindset and commitment of contributing to the working operations of the club,” McCann told the club's Twitter account.
“That’s in regards to finance and these cup competitions bring that in so to go out like we have disappoints me massively.
“I spent the whole working week sharing that with the players but we failed.
“Now we’ll lick our wounds and get focused ahead of a big week.
“We’ll pick ourselves up and get to where we need to motivate this group and try to get to the top of the pile.
“Our next two games allow us to do that but there’s no added pressure.
“One is at home and one is away but if we’re serious about this season we need to be looking at maximum points.”
Billericay are currently second in the table and will be keen to get back to winning ways against Dartford who sit 10th before travelling to the current league leaders Lewes this weekend.
Elsewhere tonight in the Isthmian Premier, third from bottom Canvey Island resume their league campaign against Cray Wanderers at the Steve Taxi’s Stadium.
In Isthmian North, table-topping Basildon United are on the road as they head to seventh placed Felixstowe & Walton United.
