BILLERICAY Town scored twice in stoppage time to draw 2-2 at Lewes in a top of the table clash.

Isthmian Premier Division leaders Lewes led 2-0 before Town defender Tom Bender scored four minutes into stoppage time and Moses Emmanuel equalised three minutes later.

However, the share of the spoils saw Town drop down to third.

Elsewhere, Canvey Island moved 14th after a 2-1 win at Bognor Regis Town.

Chris Harris put the Gulls in front five minutes into the second half before Spencer Spurway equalised 13 minutes later.

But Canvey were not to be denied and Finlay Dorrell’s strike four minutes from time secured all three points.

In Isthmian North, Basildon United slipped to second after a 2-0 defeat at Newmarket Town while Concord Rangers dropped to ninth following a 2-0 loss at home to Brightlingsea Regent.

In the Essex Senior League, third placed Great Wakering Rovers won 3-2 in an entertaining clash at Hullbridge Sports.

Harry Talbot put Wakering ahead in the 26th minute before Harry Brown made it 2-0 just five minutes.

Hullbridge hit back with goals with Owen Bellamy and Tobias Braney making it 2-2 but Talbot’s second effort of the afternoon, in the 66th minute, made sure of the win despite his red card 15 minutes from time.

Hullbridge are now 15th in the table while Benfleet dropped to 10th after losing 3-2 at home to Sawbridgeworth Town.

Wale Odedoyin and Mason Shave netted for Benfleet who had goalkeeper Florent Gislette sent off late on.

White Ensign moved 13th in the standings after a stunning 7-0 win against Stansted.

Chinedu Duru scored a hat-trick for Ensign while Max Harbrow, Nathan Wilson, Dylan Whitelock and Billy Bonham-Dare also netted.
