SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 1-0 win at Eastleigh.

A hard fought win. The referee stole the show. Bizarre officiating topped off when he stopped the game for their keeper being down despite no head injury. Was clearly biased toward the home team. Also Dorset based which isn’t too far from Eastleigh.

@Smudgedann

A first shot at the first round since 2021. Testament to never giving up and Bim's willingness to always have a goal at goal. Would be nice to have Birmingham at home, sell out crowd, money in the pot to buy new player ( s ) and a serious crack at a bigger club.

@MatthewYeatts53

A thoroughly deserved result which reflected the run of play, despite the referee's best attempts to engineer a home win. Could this be a new beginning? Fingers crossed.

A result ground out. Not help by some strange referee decisions. Good to see the effort put in and kept going until finally got the result.

Hoping for Stevenage away.

@Madcyril2001

Constantly say this but the ‘quality’ of refereeing is a beyond atrocious. That a side delighted Colin made some important contributions for his confidence and as bad as the goal was I’ll take and it’s about time we had some luck like that.

@glentiesbhoy

Fabulous win, a home draw will be perfect.

@Michael76141687

We appear to be Eastleigh’s bogey side!

@IntercityFC

Our performances in the cup have been absolutely shocking for years when we could have made some money from cup appearances we have seemed to fall flat. I thoroughly expected nothing from today and am pleased for that to be wrong.

@TheWonkyGamers

Great Blues, well done. Fighting to the very end.

Let's hope this helps kick start the season properly.
