SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher opted to put Oli Coker straight back into the starting line-up after being impressed by the midfielder in training.
Coker, who had been out of action since late August with an ankle issue, played 66 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 win at Eastleigh.
And Maher was pleased to have the 21-year-old back on the pitch.
“We debated whether to bring him off the bench or throw him in but he’s had a good week’s training so we threw him in,” said Maher.
“You can see what we’ve missed with him too so we’re glad he’s back.
“Cav (Miley) was out running before the game and Danny Waldron too which is good but we’re pleased to have Cokes back.”
