GREAT Wakering Rovers star Harry Brown has been voted the Echo’s non-league player of the month for September.

The in-form forward picked up 31 per cent of the 765 votes cast after impressing for the Essex Senior League side.

And the striker was delighted to pick up the prize.

“I’m so pleased to win it,” said Brown.

“There were some good players in the mix, so for people to recognise me is a great feeling.”

Brown saw off Billericay Town’s Ashley Nzala, Basildon United’s Ruben Bartlett-Antwi and Concord Rangers’ Amine Sassi to triumph.

And the forward has been pleased with his start to the season for Marcus Bowers’ team.

“I’m really happy with my form and I’ve got nine goals for the season now,” said Brown.

“I think as a team we are growing each week and showing what we can do.”

Wakering currently sit third in the standings after winning 3-2 at Hullbridge Sports on Saturday.

And Brown was thrilled with the win.

“Saturday was gritty but we came out with three points and the best teams find a way to win,” said Brown.

“We want to keep it going though.

“I have my own goals this year and if I achieve them, it will allow the team to do well also.

“I believe in myself and I’ll keep pushing each week to be better.”
