SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher cannot wait to take on Charlton Athletic in the the FA Cup.
But he insists the forthcoming first round tie will not become a distraction for Blues.
Southend host the Addicks at Roots Hall on Saturday November 2.
And Maher is already excited for the encounter.
"When you're in that round you want a big club and they don't come much bigger than Charlton from the sides in the comp," said Maher.
"It's quite local so they will bring a big following and we'll have a big crowd too so it will be a good game.
"It will be good to see Nathan (Jones) as well.
"I know him very well and I'm still in touch with him quite a lot.
"We're looking forward to it but we've put it to bed for now.
"We'll be ready when it comes but we have league games before then to focus on."
