BOWERS & Pitsea and Billericay Town both triumphed in the Isthmian Premier Division on Saturday.
Billericay moved second in the table with a 1-0 win at Dulwich Hamlet as Tom Bender scored the only goal of the game in front of a crowd of 3,085.
And there was also success for Bowers who beat Chichester City 2-1 at the Len Salmon Stadium, thanks to goals from Alfie Evans and TQ Addy.
Bowers are now 19th in the table, level on points with Canvey Island who lost 1-0 at home to Folkestone Invicta.
In Isthmian North, third placed Basildon United got back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory against Maldon & Tiptree at the Hive.
Ruben Bartlett-Antwi bagged the winner for Bees in the 24th minute.
Elsewhere, Concord Rangers drew 2-2 at Sporting Bengal United.
Simo Mbonkwi and Lewis Jaggs were both on target for the Beach Boys who were denied all three points by a Daniel Pepple equaliser six minutes into stoppage time.
In the first round of the FA Vase, Benfleet beat Newbury Forest 7-6 on penalties after the match had ended in a 1-1 draw.
