SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was left ruing his side’s lack of end product following tonight’s 0-0 draw at Aldershot Town.

The Shrimpers failed to work their way onto the score-sheet despite piling pressure on their hosts.

And Maher was left slightly frustrated not to pick up more than just a point.

“On the balance of play we dominated the ball, chances and we were on control of the game,” said Maher.

“I don’t think Collin (Andeng Ndi) has had much to do other than the first minute which we contributed to ourselves.

“But in terms of performance it was good and it was another clean sheet away from home too.

“We just wanted a bit of quality or magic in the final third or something to drop for us.

“It’s a point on the board, another away one and you have to be pleased with that to a certain extent but we’re disappointed not to get all three.”

However, Maher was buoyed by Blues keeping their third clean in succession.

"We aren't having many chances against either which is pleasing," said Maher.

"It's not like we're hanging on in games so the structure is good.

"We're starting to look more like ourselves in terms of structure going forward but hopefully we'll start adding more goals as we go.

"When you lose Cards (Harry Cardwell) who got 18 last year it's hard to replace.

"We're trying and the lads put in a hell of a shift up top but it's an area we want to get stronger in.

"We'll keep looking but I'm sure the lads will keep working hard."
