SOUTHEND United midfielder George Moncur missed the goalless draw at Aldershot Town with a groin issue.
Moncur had been set to return to the starting line-up at the EBB Stadium but failed a fitness test on the eve of the game.
Blues boss Kevin Maher confirmed: "George we were going to put in tonight but he felt something towards the end of training yesterday afternoon.
"He had a test today but it was too much of a risk.
"He had a fitness test before the game and obviously didn't pass it.
