CALLUM Boylan bagged the only goal of the game as Great Wakering Rovers beat Frenford 1-0 at Burroughs Park.

Boylan netted in the 73rd minute to keep Wakering fourth in the Essex Senior League standings with games in hand on all the teams above them in the table.

Benfleet slipped to 11th after a 2-0 defeat at league leaders Stanway Rovers while Hullbridge Sports suffered a seventh successive defeat, losing 1-0 at struggling Ilford.

Hullbridge are now 16th in the table.

In Isthmian North, Basildon United lost 1-0 at Walthamstow and sit fourth in the table.

In the FA Trophy, there were defeats for Bowers & Pitsea and Canvey Island.

Bowers lost 1-0 at home to Chatham Town while Canvey Island were beaten 2-0 by Horsham at the Steve Taxi’s Stadium.

However, there was joy in the FA Vase for White Ensign who won their rearranged first round clash at Kempston Rovers 2-1.

Taylor Jacobi and Ben Sargent were both on target for Ensign inside the opening 33 minutes of the match.
