SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher does not agree with the decision to scrap FA Cup replays.
The Shrimpers' first round tie with Charlton must be settled on Saturday after the FA opted scrap all replays from the start of this season.
But Maher believes it is a bad move for lower league clubs.
"The fact we weren't consulted on it is something," said Maher.
"With clubs like us we're trying to get to a sustainable position and replays against big teams can make a huge difference to clubs at our level.
"For that to be taken away is really disappointing but we are where we are and we've got to accept it and more on."
The winners of Saturday's tie will pick up £45,000 while the losers will get £15,000.
