SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher still owns a unique piece of memorabilia from Blues' famous win against Manchester United.
Eighteen years ago this week, a free-kick from Shrimpers star Freddy Eastwood condemned Sir Alex Ferguson's side to defeat at Roots Hall.
And Maher still has the boots Eastwood wore that night.
"I've still got them," said Maher who captained Blues against the Red Devils.
"I need to get them signed by him but I grabbed them off him about a week after the game.
"I'm not sure he realised what he was doing but I've got them at home.
"I think they're in the cupboard but they'll come in handy.
"They'll be perfect for the testimonial."
The Shrimpers' win against a United side containing both Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo will forever remain in Roots Hall folklore.
And Maher has his own memories from the match.
"It was a period when we hadn't really won many games in the league," said Maher.
"When the tie came out we were excited it was Man United and then when you saw the team-sheet and who they had lining up for them that was something else.
"The biggest thrill was getting to play against these players and it was an incredible night for the football club.
"It's one that will live long in the memory.
"There were some big performances but it's not just about who you played against, it's who you played with and the memories you have with them too.
"That's the most important thing."
