SOUTHEND United chairman Justin Rees has spoken of his excitement after welcoming Shivaas Gulati onto the club's board.
Gulati has joined the consortium after months of discussions with the Shrimpers owner.
And Rees believes Gulati's arrival will be a big boost for Blues' future.
“I’m delighted to welcome Shivaas as the latest COSU teammate and Southend United board member," said Rees.
"Since we first met six months ago, we’ve taken the time to get to know each other and ensure we share the same values and vision for the club.
"Together, we’re committed to building a community-centric club that achieves success sustainably."
Gulati will be at Roots Hall for Saturday's National League clash with Yeovil Town.
And Rees is certain Gulati can make a big difference with the Shrimpers.
“Shivaas has enjoyed significant success in his professional career, and his business expertise and entrepreneurial spirit will be invaluable on our journey," said Rees.
"He brings not only a track record of building impactful, dynamic organisations but also a genuine passion for football and the Southend United story.
“This is an exciting time for Southend United, and I look forward to working closely with Shivaas and the rest of COSU to help the club reach its full potential.”
