AN INJURY-TIME effort from Bradley Sach saw Canvey Island beat Whitehawk 2-1 at the Steve Taxi's Stadium.
Jaxon Brown cancelled out Kai Jennings' opener for the visitors before Sach struck late on to send the Gulls 10th in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Bowers & Pitsea slipped back into the relegation zone after losing 1-0 to bottom of the table Bognor Regis Town while there was also disappointment for Billericay Town who dropped to fifth after a 4-3 defeat at Carshalton Athletic.
Billericay led 3-1 at half-time with the returning Arjanit Krasniqi on target along with Moses Emmanuel who bagged a brace.
But Carshalton hit back to triumph with Fabio Camacho-Saraiva scoring the winner five minutes into injury time.
In Isthmian North, fifth placed Basildon United lost 4-0 at table-topping Bury Town while Concord Rangers drew 1-1 at Walthamstow.
Thomas Stagg netted for the Beach Boys who are now 14th.
In the second round of the FA Vase there were defeats for Benfleet and Great Wakering Rovers.
Benfleet lost 2-1 at Brantham Athletic with Mason Shave netting a late consolation for the Essex side while Great Wakering were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Great Yarmouth Town.
The match at Burroughs Park had ended in a 2-2 draw with Callum Boylan and Harrison Topliss on target but the spot-kicks went the way of the visitors.
