SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Yeovil Town at Roots Hall.
A bit galling that the winner came from an overhit cross as we looked to be holding on pretty comfortably. Once it went in that was it. Don't understand why Gus wasn't shoved further forward, or try Wood again?
@Moorhouse79
Sending off changed the game however even before that we didn’t trouble Yeovil that much. We lack game changes and our mistakes are being punished. Pepple run his legs off today but a lot of others aren’t performing to their best and lacking confidence.
@IanANichols
Once again let down by over zealous officials and poor decision making from our players. The fourth official Jack Willmore was instrumental in getting Maher sent off, albeit we don’t know what he said. Would love to know, he genuinely looked shocked at both cards!
@PinkyRound14
Red killed the game, correct decision though. Otherwise, officials poor. Game of real poor quality. Lucky goal from them and they offered nothing going forward. Disappointing from us on the ball, too many loose passes. Frustrating watch.
@ConorSammon100
I honestly thought being down to 10 and backs against the wall might suit us. We just don’t seem to be able to unlock teams who are similar ability to us - but beatable. Win today and we’d have been back in the playoffs mix. We didn’t and we drift further away.

Jeacock red card was correct but the rest of the reffing was the worst I’ve seen this season. Felt like the ref thought they were reffing the Premier League rather than national league. Pepple’s hold up play was great but unfortunately, as a team, we can’t seem to score enough.
@TomSalmon123
Very little real quality from either team, both cancelled each other out. The sending off was harsh but correct as it hit his hand. After that a draw looked on but one decent chance ends the game. Not sure we did enough throughout to merit sharing the spoils.
@ErosStuart
Scrappy game before the red, but was never given a chance to settle. Was definitely a red card no doubt. Ref set the tone early however. Can see the difference between refs from last week in how they let the game play, she had every intention of forcing herself into the game.
@WillMay04_
Abigail Byrne was not good enough. The fourth official was an embarrassment. However, Kev needs to reign it in. He’s a liability now and with three of them in the management team, why can’t he step back once booked? Subs were reactive, not proactive and another weak goal to concede.
@djm_eightyone
I still want to know what Maher said or did to get him sent off. Being a referee is tough whoever does it. Sign of a good official is someone who lets the game flow, for me in the first half she didn’t allow it to flow so well.
@FlamingIdiot1
Ruined from the moment Jeacock decided to handball the ball outside the box for some reason. Nothing more needs to be said.
