SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher opted not to include Danny Waldron in the squad for Saturday's clash with Yeovil Town.
Waldron had been out of action with a knee problem since late August prior to coming off the bench against Charlton Athletic last weekend.
But the forward was not involved against Yeovil.
Maher explained: "Woody (Jack Wood) played and scored a hat-trick in the week so we felt he was in a better place to come on.
"Danny's had a bit (of a problem) with his knee too."
Waldron had been expected to feature against Hashtag United in the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday but was unable to feature due to a knee problem.
