BOWERS & Pitsea will be looking to shock Billericay Town for a second time this season on Saturday.

Bowers, who are 19th in the Isthmian Premier Division, beat fifth placed Billericay Town 2-1 in the FA Cup back in August.

But Bowers skipper TQ Addy knows it will be tough to win at New Lodge again this weekend when the two teams go head to head in the league.

“We are expecting a very tough game in a local derby, especially as they are in great form in the league this season and have some very good individual players,” said Addy.

“However we have beaten them once this season in the FA Cup so despite being aware of their threats, we definitely are going there with threats of our own.

“We do know they are going to want to make it right after we beat them earlier in the season so we will be prepared for that as well but you can expect a good physical local derby.”

Bowers and Billericay will both head into the clash on the back of disappointing defeats.

Billericay let slip a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 at Carshalton Athletic while Bowers lost 1-0 at home to bottom of the table Bognor Regis Town.

And Addy remains annoyed by the scoreline as James Collins’ side look to work their way out of the bottom four.

“It was extremely frustrating as in the league we had been on a good run, winning four out of six games,” said Addy.

“But so far the season has been up and down I would say.

“We’ve had some very good performances against the so called bigger teams in the league but haven’t found that consistency enough which is frustrating because i know we are capable of doing that.

“Being able to show the consistency is the real challenge that we have to step up to if we really want to have a good season.

“But I’m more than confident we will get it right and will get back to picking up points.

And Addy is also keen to help make that happen.

“For the rest of the season personally I want to contribute with as many goals and assists to help the team achieve its collective goals,” said Addy.

“As a team right now we are taking each game as it comes, trying to put as many points on the board as possible.

“Of course as we are newly promoted people would say our goal is to just stay up.

“But as everyone knows football is unpredictable and anything is possible so going into each week trying to win the game that’s at hand is what we are focusing on right now.”
